This Saturday we’re planning to have the next session of our Raspberry Pi series between 4:00pm and 6:00pm. This little computer has created a new way for kids to be introduced to computing (well, some would argue it was an old, but forgotten way) and we’re delighted to be be able to help a new cohort of students get to grips with what the Raspberry Pi is, what it can be used for and how to build projects with it. Last week, the group looked at NOOBS, the default operating Raspbian operating system that comes recommended for the Pi, and proceeded to install it on their Pis. It’s a good Linux flavour to get started with, but there are many more. We still have spaces available as we doubled up our capacity for this class last week, so if you want to learn more, just Join Our Dojo and book yourself a place.
Our Wednesday Twilight Tech session is running as usual this week. Aimed at technology professionals and enthusiasts, this group meets at STEAM Lab between 6:00pm and 8:00pm. Just after work and not too late to go out for a quick drink after if the chance arises. Topics discussed are varied, but it’s always interesting and a great way to meet fellow techies.
And we’ve added some more low priced Raspberry Pi addons onto our Amazon Wishlist. These will help us deliver our classes, enable us to reach more students and teach others the benefit of technology. If you want to contribute to our great work, check out the Wishlist.
